This Blood Orange & Cider Drink Mix is perfect for fall gatherings, easily transportable, and can be used to create delicious cocktails and mocktails for Thanksgiving. It tastes like fall in a cup!
First, pour 3 cups of apple cider into a sauce pan. Bring to a boil, and then reduce to a simmer. Let this simmer for about 30 minutes (or until it’s reduced to about half). Transfer this to a 32 oz mason jar, or some sort of jar with a lid. Add 1/4 cup of honey, or sweetener of choice. Shake this together—the warmth of the cider will help it mix together with the honey. While this cools, juice 4 blood oranges (you could use a juicer, citrus press, or whatever you have!). Add the blood orange juice to the jar, along with 3 cinnamon sticks, 1 sliced blood orange, and 1 sliced apple. Let sit overnight in the fridge so the cinnamon sticks infuse the liquid. For a mocktail, serve an ounce or two of the mix with 6 to 8 oz of seltzer. For a regular cocktail, combine 3 oz of the mix with 1 oz of liquor in a cocktail shaker, or mix 6 oz of seltzer, 2 oz of mix, and 1 oz of liquor stirred together with ice for a spritz.
