Two easy and simple recipes for homemade candy favorites: Butterfingers and Reese's peanut butter cups, made with common ingredients like peanut butter, maple syrup, and chocolate. These recipes are perfect for a quick snack or a fun Halloween treat!
Homemade Butterfingers:
1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of smooth peanut butter (can be substituted for any nut or seed butter), 1/3 cup of maple syrup (or liquid sweetener of choice), and 1/2 tsp of vanilla. If you keep your peanut butter refrigerated, warm it up in a sauce pan first.
2. Then, fold in 2 cups of corn flakes and 1 tsp of flaky salt (or 1/4 tsp of regular salt). The corn flakes will crush as you mix.
3. Transfer this to a candy mold, or roll out flat using parchment paper and cut shapes using cookie cutters. Either way, once you do so, place them in the freezer for 20 minutes.
4. While they set, melt 1 & 1/2 cups of chocolate chips with 1 tsp of coconut oil.
5. Dip the butterfingers in the chocolate, coat evenly, and transfer to a wire rack to set.
6. Enjoy right away or store in your fridge for up to a week!
